  1. Powerful message! Good for her and everybody in that commercial. Too bad they weren’t available to speak in Florida on Amendment 2.

  2. Kathy is hilarious, and of course I say vote NO on PROP 8, PLEASE, but it is a sickening, disgusting vote in the first place.

Imagine a heterosexual man sitting back peacefully as society voted on whether he, his wife, and his children deserved the rights and protections of civil marriage. What would HE think of PROP 8 in CA? Would he even THINK of opening up his wallet to fund a PR drive to gain a chance to “win” this civil right? Or would it be “Live Free or Die”?

Yet we (the gay community), and our allies have agreed – AGREED – to hash out this “debate” with a public PROP 8 lottery (it’s not a debate…I KNOW I DESERVE MARRIAGE).

Here’s my “NON-Debate for PROP 8” – It really doesn’t matter what others may “think” or “not think” at this point.

I will not pay an organization for Human Rights, Family Rights, Civil Rights, or Constitutional Rights. I will simply refuse to file my IRS tax returns until my FAMILY is equal under the law.

    VOTE ON THAT!

  3. I heart Kathy Griffin so much.

Imagine if gay people were allowed to vote on whether straight people should have the right to marry. I bet I know how that would turn out, but it seems that so many straights want to deny their fellow man the rights that they take for granted. Pity.

    Glad you started blogging!

  4. John/Brian, you’re absolutely right. The question is: how do you get that message out to the masses without the ultra-conservative, right-wing, religionistas squashing it before the message is ever delivered?

Nixon started a very powerful movement with the “Silent Majority” and they, up until recently seemed to act like an 800 lb gorilla without a cage. It seems like they may be losing their grip, but they’re the ones who have held this control for so long.

  5. John and Brian, I hear you and agree 100%.
Derek, that’s the question of the day…
Here’s something else to consider…those same “religionistas” seem to forget that God made us all the way we are…why would he make us something that would put us in a position where there is “right” and “wrong?” I do not beleive we “chose” to be gay but were born this way. What gives ANY one else the right to decide whether we are not to be treated like all God’s people…what would Jesus do? Love everyone…
